Mock-ups are the first time that a client sees their idea in three dimensions. Sometimes it's a realization that we are headed in the wrong direction. Other times, it adds fuel to the excitement of the finished product!
Frequent client check-ins keep everyone engaged and aware of project progress.
The client was looking for a rustic design, and so the boards were planed on only one side. The high handle provides ample room for access to the goods.
A finger joint of sorts was used in lieu of the typical mechanical fastener. This is of course made by a woodworker. Mechanical fasteners are not permitted around these parts!
The bottle opener was a client-requested design element.
