FAQs
Do you maintain inventory of products?
While I have every intention of doing so, demand for popular items, the ones I would carry inventory of, has been so great that I just cannot get ahead of the orders.
What materials do you use?
I use locally sourced wood, procured from small independent businesses in and around Toronto. I do not buy any materials from the Orange or Blue box stores, mostly due to sub par quality.
Any solid wood that I used is procured by me, piece by piece, in rough form. I mill the material using a jointer, planer and table saw.
Any plywoods that I work with are of the highest quality. Most often, this means baltic birch or other birch plywoods. These varieties are highly regarded for their several orthogonal layers which add immense strength.
Do you use non-toxic paints and finishes?
The toxicity of paint and other finishes is a property that exists only when the material is in its liquid state. Once it has fully cured, any finish is safe, with some exceptions (ahem… lead, I’m lookin’ at you here).
Can I pick up my item directly from you?
Of course!
Can you make [insert item here]?
In all likelihood, the answer is yes!
Custom items are very interesting to me. Let me know what you have in mind and we can trade ideas to see what a workable solution might look like!
What is the lead time for my item?
Lead times vary depending on the item you are ordering and current demand. Cutting boards may be completed in approximately one week while learning towers will tend closer to two weeks.
You seem to build a diverse array of projects?
Yes! I have had clients ranging from young children to large corporations. I like to build projects out of wood, metal and other materials. That’s why I’m here.
This all sounds too good to be true. Can woodworking really be this awesome?
